The High Priestess in the Black Tarot
Mystery kept for power, silence as a wall, intuition curdled into suspicion.
Portrait of the shadow
The bright Priestess guards a secret the way one guards a spring — so it stays clean. The black one guards it the way one guards a weapon. Her silence is not depth but a fortress wall, and she herself hasn't visited the far side of it in years. The intuition she prides herself on has quietly become suspicion: she 'senses' the worst about people and calls it wisdom. Her curse is the initiate's loneliness — nobody ever passes the trust exam, because the exam has no end. The way out begins with a strange step: putting a request into words. Plain ones, vulnerable ones, uncoded. A spring comes back to life when someone drinks from it.
The trap
'You should have guessed' instead of asking, offence taken for the unguessed. She knows more about people than she tells them — and keeps that knowledge within reach.
The shadow in love and at work
In love: Tests with silence; closeness meets a locked door.
At work: Information as currency; colleagues always find out last.
The way out
Say out loud one thing you usually make people guess.
