Why read the cards from the dark side
A card's ordinary meaning answers the question 'what is good here?'. Its shadow meaning asks a more honest one: 'what am I refusing to look at?'. The Tower's shadow is not disaster but years of cosmetic repair over a crack; the Ten of Cups' shadow is postcard happiness nobody is home to live. A named shadow stops running things from the dark — the whole deck stands on that.
