What retrograde means astronomically
A planet does not reverse its orbit. From Earth's moving viewpoint, its apparent position against the zodiac can temporarily decrease in longitude. A station is the numerical turning point of that apparent motion. Slow outer planets retrograde for months every year; that is normal geometry, not a rare malfunction in the sky.
The table is generated from Astronomy Engine apparent geocentric positions. Astrological planning meanings are cultural interpretation and cannot prove causation.
