What the meter actually weighs
Most compatibility pages compare only Sun signs — that is one voice out of seven. The harmony meter listens to the whole choir: the Sun pair for values and life goals, the Moon pair for emotional comfort at home, Venus and Mars crosswise for affection and spark, Mercury for how your conversations go at 1 a.m., life path numbers for direction, lunar birthdays for inner tides, and biorhythm sync for what today specifically feels like between you.
Every dimension shows its own 0–100 bar with a one-line reading, and the dial on top is the weighted sum. The "Today for you two" box is recalculated daily — the pair of you is fixed, but the day is not.
Honest by design
The planetary positions here are real astronomical calculations. The score is a symbolic tradition — a mirror for conversation, never a verdict. Plenty of extraordinary couples score in the middle bands; what they share is usually not the number but the habit of talking about their differences early.
How to read your score
The dial shows a weighted average of the dimensions you left switched on. The Moon pair carries the most weight (22), then the Sun pair (20), Venus and Mars (18), Mercury (12), life paths and today's biorhythms (10 each) and lunar birthdays (8). If you add birth time and city, the Ascendant dimension joins with a weight of 14. Each band has a name on the meter; here is what it usually means in practice and where to point the conversation.

Look at the individual bars as well as the total. A bar of 70 or above reads as a natural strength, 45 to 69 as a middle ground that responds to effort, and below 45 as a place where you will need to translate for each other. Two couples can both score 62 with completely different shapes.
In short
The total tells you the weather; the individual bars tell you where the wind comes from. Read the lowest bar first, because that is where kindness and good habits will pay off most.
The seven dimensions in daily life
For the planet pairs, the meter measures the angle between the two positions. A conjunction (same place), trine or sextile scores high, an opposition lands in the middle, and a square scores lowest. Element affinity (fire, earth, air, water) nudges the result up or down.
Sun × Sun: values and direction
The Sun describes what each of you is trying to become. A high score looks like shared priorities without negotiation: you agree on what a good weekend, a good career move or a good use of money is. A low score looks like two sensible people who keep choosing different things, where one wants roots and the other wants range. Neither is wrong; say your goals aloud rather than assume them.
Moon × Moon: emotional home
The Moon is how you need to be comforted, and it matters more than most people expect, which is why it carries the highest weight. High looks like knowing without asking: tea appears, the room goes quiet at the right moment. Low looks like one of you wanting to talk it through while the other needs to be left alone for an hour. Venus × Mars: spark and affection
This pair is read crosswise: your Venus against their Mars and the other way round. High looks like attraction that stays alive after the first year and affection that lands the way it was meant. Low looks like mismatched timing, when one reaches out as the other pulls back. Your Venus sign shows how you love, and a partner's Mars sign shows how they pursue and assert.
Mercury × Mercury: conversation
Mercury is how you think and argue. High looks like conversations that run long and arguments that end with a joke. Low looks like two different grammars: one of you thinks out loud while the other needs silence before speaking. Compare your Mercury signs and agree on a pause word for heated moments.
Life paths: shared direction

Lunar birthdays: inner rhythm

Biorhythms: today

Why Sun signs alone mislead
The Sun stays in one sign for about thirty days, so roughly one person in twelve shares your Sun sign. The Moon changes sign every two and a half days, Mercury and Venus stay close to the Sun but not in lockstep with it, and Mars moves on its own schedule. Two people with a "difficult" Sun pairing can share a Moon sign and feel instantly at home with each other, while a textbook "perfect" pair can have Moons that clash every evening. Worth knowing
If you know both birth times, the Moon becomes much more precise, because it moves about half a degree an hour. That can move the Moon × Moon bar by ten points or more.
An example reading
This is an illustration, not a real couple. Mia is a Leo and Daniel is a Scorpio, a pairing that is famously described as stubborn and difficult. Their Suns form a square, so the Sun bar reads 44. Had they stopped at the Sun sign, they might have believed the internet.

The total came out at 67, warm harmony. The useful part was not the number but the shape. Their conflicts rarely came from feelings (that Moon score) and almost always came from plans: whose friends, whose city, how public to be. What to do after your result
- Read the highest and lowest bars together. Say which line in each rings true for you. Disagreeing with the reading is just as useful.
- Name one habit for the lowest bar. For a low Moon score, "ask before comforting". For a low Mercury score, "no big talks after ten at night".
- Ask each other better questions. Pick three from our date night questions or work through the 36 questions on a slow evening.

Privacy and method
Planet positions are computed in your browser by an open-source astronomy library (Astronomy Engine). Your birth dates, times and results are not sent to our server and are not stored. If you use the city search, only the text you type goes to Open-Meteo's geocoding service to find coordinates and a timezone. The meter uses the tropical zodiac by default, with sidereal (Lahiri) as an option, and you can widen or narrow aspect orbs in the settings.
What the meter can do
Show where two charts agree and where they pull apart, and give you words for patterns you already feel.
What it cannot do
Predict whether you will stay together, replace honest talk, or excuse unkind behaviour. If something in your relationship feels unsafe, trust that feeling over any chart.
A note on scores
No score here is a reason to leave or to stay. Couples who last usually share one skill rather than one chart: they notice a difference early and talk about it while it is still small.
