Why one return can have three dates
Saturn's apparent geocentric longitude can cross the natal degree, reverse during its annual retrograde loop, and cross it again. That creates a direct–retrograde–direct sequence. Some charts receive one pass, some three; the surrounding season is wider than the exact conjunction days.
