The Empress in the Black Tarot
Care that smothers; abundance held over your head.
Portrait of the shadow
The Black Empress feeds people not because they are hungry but because she is afraid of being unneeded. Her garden is lush but has no wild paths: everything staked, grafted, growing where it is told. Care is her power and her alibi — try reproaching the one who 'does everything for you'. The card's shadow is a deal nobody signed: I give you everything, you give me yourself. Children don't grow up, partners don't decide, colleagues don't rise — near her it doesn't pay. The way out takes a gardener's courage: stop staking and watch where the plant leans on its own. Love with a meter running is rent.
The trap
Gives without asking if it's wanted — and keeps the ledger. Around her it is warm, well-fed and airless; gratitude has become a mandatory tax.
The shadow in love and at work
In love: Love measured in servings; adults around her stay eternal children.
At work: Indispensable because she lets nobody near; the team forgot how to walk.
The way out
Ask 'how can I help?' — then do exactly that, nothing more.
