Thurisaz ᚦ
Thurisaz is the thorn — small, sharp, and exactly where the hand reaches. It is defensive force, sudden conflict, and the hard boundary that hurts precisely because it works. In the old poems it is also the giant: chaos that tests the fence.
Upright
Upright, Thurisaz hands you the thorn: a boundary that needs setting, a confrontation better faced than fled, protective power available if used with aim. It can mark a breakthrough that only force achieves — the door that needed a shoulder, not a knock. Drawn calmly, it says: you are allowed to be sharp about this one.
Reversed
Reversed, the thorn points inward: quarrels picked from tiredness, defences up against friendlies, force spent proving rather than protecting. It can also warn of walking into someone else's spikes — reread the situation before you reach. Not every hedge invites your hand.
In love
In love, Thurisaz is the rune of the necessary hard conversation — and of thorns grown where tenderness was refused too long. Upright, defend the relationship's borders together. Reversed, check who the spikes are actually aimed at.
In work and money
At work, it backs firm negotiation, decisive cuts, defending your team or your price. Its shadow is the reputation of the cactus — prickly by default. Use the thorn like a scalpel: rarely, precisely, then put it down.

Pick the one boundary most overdue and state it in one sentence, without garnish. Thorns work best short.
