Eihwaz

Eihwaz is the yew — the graveyard evergreen, poison-needled, bow-wood tough, half a millennium in one trunk. The old imagination made it the World Tree's cousin: rooted in the underworld, crowned in light. It is the rune of endurance through the dark passage, spine intact.

Upright

Eihwaz appears at thresholds that must simply be walked: the hard middle of grief, transition, the long corridor between an ending and its meaning. Its gift is yew-nature — flexibility that refuses to snap, depth of root that keeps you fed when the surface is winter. You will get through; more strangely, you will be more yourself on the far side. The bow is made of exactly this wood.

In shadow — this rune has no reversed

Symmetric, unreversible — but the yew has shadows of its own: enduring what should be exited, mistaking numbness for toughness, and the graveyard temptation to set up residence among endings. Eihwaz is a corridor rune. Corridors are for walking.

In love

In love, Eihwaz is the vow tested — illness, distance, the year that tried the roots. Bonds with yew in them bend and hold. Its quiet warning: endurance is a virtue of seasons, not a substitute for warmth. Survive together, then remember to live together.

In work and money

At work, it favours the long apprenticeship, the crisis weathered, careers with rings in them. Eihwaz professionals are the ones still standing at the tenth year, quietly indispensable. Its trap: confusing rooted with stuck. Yews grow, slowly, always upward too.

A step that helps

Name the corridor you're in — out loud, dated. Then take one step per day, however small. Corridors respect walkers.

The cat survives the vet, the bath and the vacuum in one day, dignity fully intact: 'Yew-nature. Obviously.'

Runes here are a mirror for reflection and a piece of living history — not a prediction and not a promise. For entertainment and thought.
