What the rune quiz is really asking
The Elder Futhark is an old northern alphabet, and every letter doubles as an image: a tree, a raised hand, a wheel on the road. This quiz ignores the whole row of twenty-four and asks one small question: which of three runes sounds most like the year you are having?
The twelve situations are about appetite, not personality tests in disguise. Do you want growth, protection or motion? Is your comfort object a birch, a key or a packed bag? It is a light, two-minute way to name a need you may have been circling for weeks. Think of it as a quick lesson in runes, too: you leave knowing one rune well instead of skimming all of them.
The three runes you can get
- Berkana ᛒ, the birch rune: growth and quiet tending. You help things sprout, and the counsel is to put yourself on the watering rota as well.
- Algiz ᛉ, the guardian rune: protection and safe spaces. You shield others, and the counsel is to let someone guard you now and then.
- Raido ᚱ, the road rune: rhythm and movement. Stagnation is your enemy, and the counsel is to give arrivals the same care as departures.
Each result links onward: read the full portraits of Berkana, Algiz and Raido on the runes shelf.
How to take it honestly and what to do next
Answer for this season, not for the woman you were five years ago. If two options tempt you, pick the one your body leans toward first; the pause usually means the mind is editing. A rune is a symbol for reflection, not a verdict on your future, and your result may change next spring, which is the point.
Once you have your rune, sit with one question: where is this need already asking for room in my week? Then take one small step. Berkana: water a plant and one neglected plan of your own. Algiz: ask one person for help you would normally refuse. Raido: take a different route home and notice what shifts. If you want to go further, learn how to read runes and draw one for the week ahead.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the rune quiz take?
There are twelve situations with three options each, so it takes about two minutes. You get one of three runes: Berkana, Algiz or Raido.
Is my result saved anywhere?
Only the name of your rune is saved, and only in this browser, on your My shelf page; your individual answers are not stored. You can also download a result card or copy an invite link for a friend.
What happens if my answers are split evenly?
Ties go to the rune listed first in the quiz, so a Berkana–Algiz tie shows Berkana. If that feels off, press retake and answer with the option you would choose on an ordinary Tuesday.
