Wedding planning almost broke us. A checklist saved the date (literally)

Nobody warns you that the hardest part of a wedding is neither money nor mothers. It's the four hundred micro-decisions arriving at once, forever, until you cry over napkin colours at midnight.

We hit the wall in month two: I was doing everything, he "didn't have opinions", we had our first real ugly fight over — I'm not joking — chair sashes.

What actually saved us: one shared checklist, every item with ONE owner and a month. Not "we'll handle flowers" — "Amelie: florist shortlist, by March". His column filled up. My 3 a.m. list-brain finally shut up, because everything had a home.

The sash question resolved itself when we realized neither of us cared. We un-decided it. Revolutionary.
