Gebo ᚷ
Gebo is the gift — the X where two lines meet as equals. In the old world a gift bound giver and receiver in living obligation; the rune keeps that double edge: generosity, partnership, and the balance that keeps both from tipping into debt.
Upright
Gebo brings exchange in good faith: a gift, an offer, a partnership where both hands are open. Contracts favoured under it are the ones both sides would sign again. It also blesses the harder receiving — help, compliments, love — reminding chronic givers that accepting well is a form of generosity too. Something is being offered; take it with both hands and no ledger.
In shadow — this rune has no reversed
Gebo cannot be reversed — the X reads the same all ways, which is rather the point. Its shadow shows as imbalance instead: gifts with hooks, generosity as control, one hand always giving while the other keeps invisible accounts. When exchanges start needing a spreadsheet, the gift has left the building.
In love
In love, Gebo is the vow-rune — two lives crossed on purpose, each still a whole line. It asks for balance of a deep kind: not identical contributions, but honest ones. The healthiest couples under Gebo can each answer 'what do I receive here?' without pausing.
In work and money
At work, it rules partnerships, mentorship, fair deals, and the network built on favours genuinely meant. Its counsel on negotiation is old and sound: the agreement both sides slightly envy is the one that holds.
