Kenaz

Kenaz is the torch — controlled fire, the light you make rather than wait for. It is the rune of craft and insight: the workshop lamp, the 'aha' at midnight, skill glowing in trained hands. Not the wildfire; the flame with a handle.

Upright

Upright, Kenaz lights up: an idea catches, a skill clicks, the problem shows its seam. It is the maker's rune — study, workshop, studio all warm under it — and the lover's torch too, the spark that starts things. Create while it burns; torches are for carrying somewhere, so aim the light at one project and watch detail emerge from murk.

Reversed

Reversed, the torch gutters: creative block, enthusiasm cooling, knowledge hoarded till it smokes. Sometimes a false light — flattery, hype, the shiny course that teaches nothing. Relight from the small end: one tiny finished thing restores more flame than a week of planning bonfires.

In love

In love, Kenaz is the spark and the tending of it — attraction, yes, and the subtler craft of keeping warmth alive on purpose. Reversed, the pilot light needs attention before the boiler does: small kindnesses first, grand gestures later.

In work and money

At work, it backs skilled trades, design, teaching, R&D — anywhere mastery is the product. Kenaz money comes from craft compounding. Its warning is the unlit lamp: expertise unshown pays nothing. Show the work.

A step that helps

Spend one hour in deliberate practice on your core craft — door closed, torch aimed. Insight follows fuel.

The cat stares into the candle flame with you, dangerously close: 'Beautiful. Move it. Now.'

Runes here are a mirror for reflection and a piece of living history — not a prediction and not a promise. For entertainment and thought.
