Modern paganism, honestly

Modern paganism is a family of nature-centred spiritual paths — Wicca the best known — that treat the turning of seasons as sacred structure. Its calendar, the Wheel of the Year, was assembled in the mid-20th century by figures like Gerald Gardner and Ross Nichols from genuinely ancient material: Celtic fire festivals, Germanic midwinter, the solstices every culture watched. Old bones, modern skeleton — and none the worse for knowing it.

The eight sabbats

We tell the Wheel's history straight: the eight-sabbat cycle is a modern construction woven from genuinely old festivals. That honesty subtracts nothing from a good bonfire.
