Egyptian, Persian, Chinese and Native American traditions independently crowned it protective — horse-and-rider amulets, tomb inlays, sacred sky-stone. Persian lore promised that turquoise seen after moonlight meant luck coming; the name itself just means 'Turkish' — the trade route, not the source.
